About Rachel
Dr. Rachel Ruholt Nienaber is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist. She enjoys working with clients of all backgrounds with concerns including trauma, conduct disorder, attachment disorders, mood and anxiety disorders, postpartum mood disorders and anxiety, and personality issues. She is especially passionate about working with women going through challenges related to pregnancy and seeking postpartum support, and has received advanced training in postpartum mood disorders and anxiety through Postpartum Support International. She also enjoys working with adolescents and young adults struggling with past trauma. She has extensive training in Interpersonal Therapy, CBT, DBT, and other evidence-based treatments, using an integrative approach, and employs empathy and active listening as primary tools.
Dr. Ruholt Nienaber earned her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from Eastern Kentucky University (where she also earned her Bachelor's and Master's). She completed her doctoral internship at Youth Opportunity Center in Muncie, Indiana (residential facility for youth involved in the juvenile court system), and has worked with children, adolescents, and college students at EKU's Psychology Clinic, K–12 students in the Madison County School District, and conducted psychological and forensic evaluations at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. She has presented in Kentucky and Indiana on identity development, school-based trauma therapy, and attachment. She is fully licensed in Kentucky, authorized for telehealth in Florida, and holds APIT designation for PSYPACT states.
