Goal-driven, short-course coaching

ADHD Clinical Coaching

A short, structured course of one-on-one work for anyone with ADHD or ADHD symptoms — children through adults. Distinct from therapy: concrete goals, real homework, a fixed end.

A different kind of one-on-one work

ADHD Clinical Coaching is a unique offering at Viewpoint provided by Dr. Libby Wertz, Psy.D. — available to anyone (children through adults) diagnosed with ADHD or experiencing ADHD symptoms. Each course is individually curated to the client's ADHD-related goals.

This is not therapy. There's no open-ended exploration of feelings — the work is task-shaped. You set 1–3 specific goals together, do real work between sessions, and the course wraps when those goals are met (often in just a few months).

Coaching vs. therapy

How coaching is different

Goal-driven coaching

  • Short, time-limited course (3–6 sessions)
  • Concrete ADHD-related goals you set together
  • Real tasks between sessions; accountability is part of the model
  • Strategies + psychoeducation + optional symptom tracking
  • Sessions spaced weeks apart so you can practice in real life

Traditional therapy

  • Open-ended, typically weekly
  • Processes feelings, history, relationships
  • The therapeutic alliance is the vehicle for change
  • Best when there's co-occurring depression, anxiety, or trauma
  • No fixed end date
What we cover

What a coaching course actually covers

  • Collaboratively setting 1–3 specific ADHD-related goals
  • Strengths discussion — what you bring that can be put to work
  • Academic or work accommodations
  • Individualized ADHD psychoeducation
  • Behavior modification and symptom management
  • Accountability for tasks between sessions
After your course

What you leave with

  • Strategies for achieving your coaching goals and managing ADHD symptoms
  • A written summary of services and personalized recommendations

Because ADHD is a lifelong neurodevelopmental condition, occasional "booster" rounds — or a transition to traditional therapy — may be helpful long-term.

What to expect

How a course is structured

1

Initial commitment

Start with 1–2 one-hour sessions to scope the goals, your strengths, and what's actually going to move the needle.

1 hour each
2

Session rhythm

Afterward, sessions can be 1 hour or 30 minutes depending on what each meeting needs. Sessions are spaced several weeks apart so you have time to do the work between them.
