About Chelsea
Dr. Chelsea Esmeier is especially passionate about working with adolescents and college students struggling with self-esteem, emotion regulation, body image, identity, and/or relationships, and is devoted to understanding how mental health is affected by the internet/social media. She specializes in the unique presentation of ADHD in girls/women and high-achieving individuals, and enjoys working with LGBTQ+ individuals at any stage of their journey. She sees clients of all ages (including younger children) and is experienced with anxiety, depression, trauma, adjustment, behavior management, and health-related issues (sleep, pain, weight management). She has extensive training in DBT, which she offers along with ACT, CBT, and other evidence-based treatments.
As Viewpoint's Director of Assessment, Dr. Esmeier oversees all formal evaluation procedures at the practice and personally specializes in assessing ADHD and learning disorders (e.g., dyslexia), including navigating academic accommodation plans and coordinating with prescribing providers. She is a clinical psychologist licensed in Kentucky and earned her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from Xavier University (where she also earned her bachelor's/master's and currently teaches in the PsyD program). She completed her doctoral internship at Dayton Children's Hospital and Wright State University's Counseling and Wellness Center. She has worked with college students at Xavier's Psychological Services Center, K–12 students in the Erlanger-Elsmere district (therapy and 504/IEP evaluations), led DBT groups and conducted neuropsychological assessments at the Lindner Center of HOPE, and completed assessments for the Center for ADHD at Cincinnati Children's Hospital. She regularly presents nationally on research exploring the influence of technology/social networking on psychological well-being.
