About Brooke

Dr. Brooke McGarry enjoys working with clients from various backgrounds with concerns including trauma, adjustment, anxiety and mood disorders, ADHD, and emotion regulation. She has experience with infants, children, adolescents, and adults, and especially enjoys teens and young adults. She is particularly passionate about working with individuals who have endured traumatic experiences that continue to affect their behavior, feelings, functioning, and relationships. She has extensive training in CBT, Prolonged Exposure (PE), Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), and Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP), and is in training to provide EMDR. She takes a client-centered approach, believing each client is the expert on their own life.

Dr. McGarry is also passionate about psychological assessment, with extensive experience assessing ADHD, learning disorders (e.g., dyslexia), Autism Spectrum Disorder, mood problems, and personality disorders. She earned her Bachelor's in Psychology (minors in Neuroscience and Biology) from Butler University and her Master's and Doctoral degrees in Clinical Psychology from Xavier University (child/adolescent concentration). She completed her internship at the LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, and previously conducted assessments at The Olympus Center at Best Point Education & Behavioral Health (formerly The Children's Home) in Cincinnati, provided school-based and crisis intervention in the Erlanger-Elsmere district, conducted neuropsychological assessments at the Lindner Center of HOPE, and provided psychotherapy at a private practice in Blue Ash, Ohio.
