About Adilia
Adilia Taylor-Laake, LPCC, is experienced working with children of all ages, as well as families and couples. She works with clients struggling with anxiety, depression, self-esteem, mood disorders, ADHD, and other emotional, personality, and behavioral diagnoses, and uses a Trauma-Informed CBT (TF-CBT) approach with trauma. She is passionate about empowering clients to be their best selves and collaborating on treatment goals. As a former athlete and coach, she has a special interest in helping youth navigate academic and athletic stressors. She uses an eclectic array of modalities including CBT, REBT, Solution-Focused, Emotion-Focused, Narrative, and Reality therapy, and her marriage-and-family background allows a systems approach supporting both the individual and their support unit. Her bilingual/bicultural background lets her address the needs of Spanish-speaking communities.
Adilia graduated from the University of South Florida (Tampa) with a B.A. in Psychology and an M.A. in Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling, plus a graduate certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy. After graduating in 2015 she worked for 5 years as a children's outpatient counselor/therapist at a nonprofit agency, became a clinical supervisor of an in-home team, and then Director of Prevention and Family Preservation. She first became licensed in Florida (LMHC and LMFT); after relocating to Kentucky she became an LPCC, and is also licensed in Ohio. Due to her licenses in KY, OH, and FL, she can work with clients via telehealth in all three states in addition to in-person work at Ft. Thomas.
